alignjustifyFuneral services for Manuela Soto of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with Eliseo and Guillermo Burciaga officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Visitation is 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel of Hope.

alignjustifyArrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home. Manuela, 71, died April 12, 2009, at Lubbock Heart Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. She was born July 4, 1937, in Ejido Emilio Carranza, Chihuahua, Mexico.

alignjustifyManuela enjoyed gardening and her pets.

alignjustifySurvivors include a daughter, Maribel Astorga of Hobbs; two brothers, Guadalupe Soto of Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, and Remedios Soto of Odessa, Texas; three sisters, Eva Soto of Seminole, Texas, Delia Verdugo of Deming, New Mexico, and Francisca Olivas of Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico; her grandchildren Lupe, Raquel, Rebeca and Davis G. Astorga; and her great-grandchildren, Anais Ramirez, Sebastian Astorga and Jeremias and Genesis Salazar.

alignjustifyManuela was preceded in death by her father, Antonio Soto; her mother, Maria Castillo Soto; and a sister, Soledad Jacquez.
