Margaret was born to Willie and Leasea Glover in Arkadelphia, Arkansas on July 26, 1925. She grew up on a farm and later on golf courses where her father was groundskeeper. Living just off the golf course is where her great love for golfing developed and lasted throughout all her life. At the age of 15 she married an army soldier, Guy L Price. They were married for 49 years and had two girls Patricia and Sandra.
Margaret was strong, fearless, and led a very active life. She loved and served in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, played golf (which she loved telling you all about), bowled and loved playing all sorts of games. She also loved to win. She was funny, outgoing and loved her family. She worked most of her life, mainly at Furr’s Cafeteria where she worked for over 17 years. After retirement Guy and Margaret worked craft shows selling Glover’s Peanut Brittle a well-loved family recipe. After the loss of her husband, she started doing what she enjoyed. Now in her 80’s she moved to Durant, Oklahoma and she and her sister, Lois, got senior apartments and the fun began. They went to church together, sang, played cards, dominoes, ate out and had a grand old time together. When her health failed, she moved back to Hobbs to live with her daughter, Sandra, and family. She lived life to the fullest and as Frank Sinatra said: “I lived it my way” and so did she.
Margaret was survived by her daughter Sandra Abney of Hobbs, NM; 6 grandchildren Terri Medina of Hobbs, NM; Peter Abney of Lufkin, TX; Teresa Roberson of Lovington, NM, Michael Edwards of Midland, TX, Judy Davis of Santa Fe, NM, Steven Edwards of Hobbs, NM, and numerous great and even greater grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lorene Clark and Lois Aldridge, her brother, Bill Glover, and her daughter, Patricia Edwards.
