Margaret Ann Bible was born to Emmett and Mildred Bible in Marlow, Oklahoma on October 19, 1944, moving to Hobbs, New Mexico in 1948. Margaret left her address of Hobbs to her new address in heaven on June 19, 2021.
Margaret married Billy Van South August 4, 1962, at First Assembly of God in Hobbs. They spent almost 59 years going on great adventures that took them all over the United States, Canada, and cruises to other countries. Together they established a strong foundation in church, co-teaching Sunday School for over twenty years. They established lifelong friendships and Margaret was a beacon of joy to so many. Her unfailing faith was reflected through her remarkable smile.
Margaret and Billy soon grew the South family with son Seborn and daughter Teri. She instilled deep faith in her kids and spent many years involved in youth groups with them. But Seborn and Teri learned most just by watching how she lived her everyday life with care, compassion, and unbridled joy.
Margaret worked for Lea Regional Medical Center for 27 years, mostly in the medical records department. She made lifelong friends of her coworkers. She could always be found with a smile and a kind word.
The joy Margaret had in her heart grew leaps and bounds with the arrival of grandchildren and great grandchildren. They all will carry a legacy of faith and family. They all loved their Nanny deep and wide just as she loved them.
Margaret was greeted in heaven by her parents, her beloved daughter Teri Ann South Payne, in-laws John and Estelle South, and brother-in-law Ronnie Teague.
Left to carry her legacy of faith are husband Billy South, son Seborn and daughter in love Tracy South, son in love, Kyle Payne; grandchildren Kristen (Colt) Wood, Colton (Alisha) South, and Shelby (Will) Meier; great-grandchildren Lucy and Hudson Wood; Brother-in-law Rodney (Michaelyne) South and sister-in-law Teresa Teague. She also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews that could always depend on her for prayers and a listening ear. She is also survived by dear lifelong friends Patty and Troy Robinson with whom they had many adventures!
