Maria Hernandez

Mary Hernandez, 70, received her wings on January 26, 2024, in Hobbs, New Mexico. 

Mary Hernandez was born on July 20, 1953, in San Angelo, Texas to Apolonio and Anita Lopez. and Pablo and Francis Lopez. 

She moved to Bovina, Texas, where she met and married her love, Manuel Hernandez Jr. in 1968.   They moved several times in Texas and landed in Hobbs, New Mexico. Together they had 4 daughters and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a bus driver for 25 plus years in Brownfield, Texas, and Hobbs, New Mexico. She had 5 years of perfect attendance as a bus driver. 

Mary was an empowered woman of strong Christian Faith. She loved to sing Christian Music, spending time with her family, playing candy crush, going to garage sales, and bragging about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved spending time with her friends and Christian friends. 

She is survived her husband, Manuel Hernandez Jr. of 55 years of Hobbs, New Mexico, daughters Terri Hernandez (Carlos Lopez), Kathy Trevino (Ernie Trevino), Melissa Cruse (Nick Cruse), and Kristy Jimenez (Korey Jimenez) of Hobbs, New Mexico, siblings Adela Ortiz of Pleasanton, Texas and Pete Lopez of Hobbs, New Mexico. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Apolonio and Anita Lopez, Pablo and Francis Lopez, siblings Linda Lopez, Rosa Marquez, Febronio Lopez, and Robert Lopez, grandson Noah Cruse and great grandson Andre Hernandez.
