Marie Moreno

Ms. Marie entered Heaven's Gates on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at her home in Hobbs. She was born March 15, 1954 in Denver, Colorado to the late Reverend Simon Velasquez Sr. and the late Paula Chavez Velasquez. In 1986, she joined Alejandro (Alex) Zapata Rodriguez in a blissful relationship that endured for over 30 years.

She worked for Hobbs Health Care and New Mexico Junior College prior to retiring in 2016

She is survived by her husband Alejandro (Alex) Zapata Rodriguez, 20 of her cherished four-legged babies, her sons Rogelio (Roy) Arrendondo Jr. and Alvaro (Guero) Moreno Jr. and daughter Rosa Elva Muro and step-children and step-grandchildren. Grandchildren Jonathon Muro, Joel Muro, Janessa Muro, Jaylin Moreno, Janelle Moreno and Joan Torres. Sisters Guadalupe Hernandez (Reverend Joe D.) and Juana Ramirez. Brothers Silvestre (Lupe) Velasquez Sr. and Manuel (Jeany)Velasquez. Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and aunts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Simon Velasquez Sr. and Paula Chavez Velasquez, brother Simon Velasquez Jr. and nephew Silvestre Velasquez Jr.
