Marjorie Oaks

Marjorie Inez “Townsley” Oaks, 86 of Hobbs, New Mexico, went to be with her Lord Sunday February 21, 2021 at Lubbock Convenant Hospital.

She was born March 28, 1934 in Durham, Oklahoma, the daughter of Arthur and Roxie Townsley.  She had 5 siblings.  On July 22, 1952 she married the love of her life Jimmy Oaks.

She was the oldest living member of Temple Baptist Church and proudly sang in the church choir.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sheryl Oaks of Hobbs, NM; son and daughter-in-law, Gerry and Teri Oaks of Hobbs, NM; brother, Pete Townlsey and wife LaQuinta of Ft. Worth Texas; brother, Ray Townsley and wife Carline of Pueblo Colorado.  She has 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Oaks, father and mother, Arthur and Roxie Townsley, brothers, Bob Townsley, Charles Townsley and sister, Lavern Townsley.
