In Loving Memory of Mark Hulse November 23, 1946 – July 4, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Mark Curtis Hulse, who passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, at the age of 79.

Mark was born on November 23, 1946, in Lubbock, Texas, and grew up in Needmore, Terry County, Texas. He attended school in Meadow, Texas, where he graduated from high school.

On April 16, 1966, Mark married the love of his life, Pam Hulse, in Ciudad Acuña, Mexico. Together they shared 60 years of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Their marriage was the foundation of a family built on love and countless cherished memories.

Mark began his career as a farmer in Terry County before moving his family to Hobbs, New Mexico, in 1977 to work in the oilfield. His strong work ethic and determination took him to the North Slope of Alaska, where he worked for two years before returning to Hobbs. He retired from Conoco after many years of dedicated service and then continued sharing his knowledge as an oilfield consultant until his official retirement in 2017.

While Mark worked hard, he loved his family even more. He never missed an opportunity to support his daughters as they grew up, attending their activities and cheering them on every step of the way. As grandchildren came along, he was just as devoted, proudly attending their events and celebrating their accomplishments. His greatest joy was simply being present for the people he loved.

Mark enjoyed hunting, camping, and traveling, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. He had a playful spirit and an unforgettable sense of humor. He loved making funny faces whenever someone pulled out a camera, ensuring there would always be laughter behind every photograph. He was known for sending family and friends off with his signature sayings: “I’ll see you in the fall, if I see you at all,” and “See you in the funny papers.” Those simple words will forever bring smiles to those who knew him.

Mark was a faithful member of Taylor Street Church of Christ for nearly 50 years, where he built lasting friendships and was part of a caring church family.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Pam Hulse; his daughters, Leha Hulse Searcy of Pinetop, Arizona; Amy Zulaica and husband Manny of Chicago, Illinois; and Susan Hulse of Hobbs, New Mexico.

He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren: Christopher Searcy and sons Brexton and Kallen; Brittany Robinson and daughter Alaya; Danielle Sule, husband Abdul, and their children Eva and Mateo; Stephan Zulaica; Chase Searcy, wife Ana, and their children Lincoln, Drew, Beau, and Oliver; Andrea Zulaica; Davon Hulse; Keearon Hawkins and daughter Vada; and Myshion Hawkins.

Mark is also survived by his brother, Geoff Hulse and wife Linda, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers of Elite Home Healthcare and the nurses and staff of StarCare Hospice. Their loving care, kindness, and support brought comfort, dignity, and peace to Mark and to our family during his final journey. We will always be grateful for the compassion they showed us.

A memorial service celebrating Mark’s life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Taylor Street Church of Christ, Hobbs, New Mexico. Family and friends are invited to join us as we celebrate a life marked by hard work, unconditional love, laughter, and devotion to family.

Though our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful for the years we shared with him. His legacy lives on in every lesson he taught, every laugh he inspired, every adventure he embraced, and every life he touched.

We will miss his smile, his funny faces, his stories, and hearing him say, “I’ll see you in the fall, if I see you at all.” Until we meet again, he will remain forever in our hearts.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
