Ann Headstream

September 8, 1930 — June 21, 2023

Hobbs

Mary Ann King entered this world September 8, 1930 in Rotan, Texas.  She was the first of three children born to Harry Tracy King and Annie Lee Goodrum King. Devoted sister, mom, aunt, nannie, and friend, she entered her heavenly home June 21, 2023.

She used to say about herself, “Not too bad for a west Texas farm girl.” When she was young she worked in the fields with her family, pulling cotton and heading maize. She hated it!!

Ann loved to learn. In grade school she discovered the magic of books. Reading and learning became her passions for the rest of her life. She graduated Sylvester high school as valedictorian. Inquisitive to the very end…who, what, where, how, when?

She married Cecil Headstream June 18, 1948. They shared 42 years together until Cecil passed away
May 28, 1990. They had two sons. Tracy Wayne and Hal Glen.

Ann pursued life with a fiery tenacity. Her tenacity was fierce. She was full of life. Always searching for the next event. She was an artist. Always dressed impeccably whenever she left the house. She was a true lady.

Ann had an extremely strong, personal relationship with Jesus Christ that she gladly shared with others. She loved and served her church passionately.

Out of all the radiance she possessed, nothing was greater than her penchant for loving others, just as they were, right where they were. Ann left behind a legacy of love. Her cosmic love will forever live on in the lives of those she touched.

A special thank you to the staff at Good Sam in Lovington.
