Funeral services for Mary Urias, 73, of Hobbs, will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Hobbs First Assembly officiated by Pastor Jonathan Cabrera. Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 8 a.m. 6 p.m. Thursday at Chapel of Hope. The family will be in attendance from 4 6 p.m. Mary died February 24, 2013, in Lubbock, TX. She was born November 16, 1939, in Bay City, TX, to Epimenio and Guadalupe Aguilar. She married Nino Urias 55 years ago in Carlabad, NM.
Mary had 4 kids and she loved them so much. She was retired and enjoyed being a homemaker. Mary had a passion for music and loved playing the piano and singing her favorite Christian songs. She also enjoyed reading in her leisure time as well as cooking a big batch of tamales with all her love and pride. Anyone who knew Mary knows she loved to laugh and bring humor to any situation. Her humorous spirit was truly embraced by all friends and family. Mary loved going to church and encouraged others to do so. She will be dearly missed, but her love and laughter will always be with us.
Surviving Mary is her husband, Nino of Hobbs two children, son, David Urias, and daughter, Norma Urias 10 grandchildren, Krystal Urias, Brandi Quiroz, Nathan Urias, Adrienne Pinedo, Christopher Quiroz, Darlene Torres, Isacc Quiroz, Kimberly Urias, Chelsey Urias and Chanel Vela and 17 greatgrandchildren.
Preceding her in death was a daughter, Martha Urias and a son, Moses Urias.
Pallbearers for the service will be Chuck Yaws, Shane Noack, Arnold Rojas, Misa Perez, Carl Leyba and Nathan Urias.
