Natalie Plant

December 1, 1942 — May 22, 2019

Natalie Parker Plant, age 76, was tragically taken from us in an act of domestic violence on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, in Hobbs, New Mexico.

She was born December 1, 1942 in Stanton, Texas, to Reyes and Nancy (Olea) Salcido. She was a 1962 graduate of Hobbs Senior High School. Natalie was employed at College Lane Elementary and worked as the Computer Lab Manager for 14 years. She took great pride in her work at College Lane and was a loved and respected asset to her students and colleagues. She also worked previously as an emergency medical dispatcher with the Hobbs Police Department for over twenty years.

Natalie enjoyed cooking, and she would happily and without hesitation fix a full course meal for a house full of guests, whether those guests were expected or totally unexpected. She enjoyed some crafting, traveling, and not too long ago, she went dancing as often as she could. She was kind, hard-working, and generous. She was eager to watch her grandchildren grow and change in the coming years. She will be greatly missed, and her loss is deeply felt by those who loved and cared for her.

Natalie is survived by her children Darrell Dean Parker of Hobbs, and Debby Fisher and her husband Cody of Cary, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Derek Parker of Lubbock, Texas, Aidan and Liam Fisher of Cary, and Avery Parker of Hobbs; and one great-grandchild, Christopher Ruben Parker. She is also survived by her two sisters Margaret Salcido-Haynie and Alice Lackey, as well as a multitude of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Natalie was preceded in death by her daughter Dinah Parker, her parents Reyes and Nancy, her grandson Christopher Lloyd Parker, and her brother Julian Salcido.

Should friends or family feel moved to donate in Natalie's memory, contributions can be made to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence online (https://ncadv.org/donate) or you may send a check to a local domestic violence center in Hobbs at Option, Inc. 200 N. Dalmont, Hobbs, NM 88240.
