Odilia Christman

There will be a memorial service for 0. B. Renee Christman, 82, of Hobbs, sometime in the spring in Ft. Sumner, NM. At that time her ashes will be spread. Renee died February 22, 2012,in Hobbs. She was born February 12,1930, in Cologne, Germany, to Willie and Mathilde Bohn. She married T. O. Christman in Georgetown, TX.
Renee was born at the start of WWII in Nazi Germany. Her parents taught her to have no love for Hitler. As a child, she was shipped to a farm in Bavaria and her parents were executed by the Gestapo.
When they moved to Hobbs in 1976, she realized her lifetime dream to become a cosmetologist. Lacking the educational level for entry to beauty college, she took and passed her GED tests. She became a certified cosmetologist at the age of fifty. She had to study using a German dictionary as her elementary education was done in Germany.
She leaves her husband and three stepchildren, several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.
