Rafael "Ralph" B. Espino
It is with tremendous sadness we announce the passing of our brother, uncle and friend, Rafael "Ralph" B. Espino on Thursday, June 13th, 2024, in Odessa, Texas.
Rafael was born to Pilar and Maria (nee Borrego) Espino in Loving, New Mexico on October 24, 1943. He attended school in Loving completing the 10th grade.
Rafael was a resident of Eunice, New Mexico for over 50 years. He worked as a roustabout for various oil companies, He was always there to lend a helping hand if needed his kindness and generosity will be missed.
Rafael served in the US Army in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. A survivor of the Tet offense of 1968, but reenlisted and was stationed in Korea from 1971 to 1973, honorably discharged. He was a member of the Army National Guard of New Mexico and as a reserve of the Army in Hobbs, New Mexico and honorably discharged. Rafael was proud to serve is country. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
Rafael was a man of God and family; he will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Catalina Espino, Gregoria (Golla) Munoz and Maria Armendarez, brothers-in-law, Sisto Munoz, Nestor Armendarez and Alfredo Munoz. He is survived by his sisters Nieves (Kim) Espino, Santiaga (Sandi) Munoz and brothers Hipolito (Polo) wife Helen Espino and Maximino (Max) wife Susie Espino, numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Rest in peace my brother, best friend and Hero.
