Rafael Soto

Today our hearts mourn the loss of our beloved Rafael Soto, who departed from us peacefully on September 19, 2025, at the age of 61.

Rafael was much more than a husband, father, and grandfather; he was a shelter of love, a counselor full of wisdom, and a light that shone upon all who surrounded him. His tenderness, his caring nature, and his unconditional devotion will remain forever engraved in our souls.

Though his absence leaves an immense emptiness, we are comforted by the memories we shared and the certainty that his life was an example of pure and true love.

He is survived by his loving wife Dora Soto from Hobbs, New Mexico, one daughter: Dora Lopez from Hobbs, NM, two sons: Rafael Soto and wife Belen from Hobbs, Fabian Soto and wife Jacqueline from Hobbs, NM, four sisters: Mariana Jaquez from Hobbs, NM, Connie Jaquez from Seminole, Texas, Elena Saucedo from Seminole, Texas, and Martha Astorga from Chicago, Illinois, one brother: Jose Jaquez from Hobbs, five granddaughters: Brisa Soto and spouse Erik, from Hobbs, NM, Abigail Lopez and spouse Andres from Hobbs, NM, Isabel Lopez, Sophia Soto, and Scarlet Soto, and four grandsons: Eric Soto, Nicolas Lopez, Anthony Soto, and Oliver Soto.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Eva Soto, father Ramon Jaquez, and one brother, Abel Jaquez.

Rest in peace, dear Rafael. Your laughter, your kindness, and your love will continue to live within each of us. You will never be forgotten.
