Ramon Hernandez, Sr.

On Friday, April 22, 2022, Ramon "Raymond" Garcia Hernandez, Sr. of Eunice, NM passed away at the age of 77.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 52 years, Anita (Ann) and his daughters Shelly Martinez and husband Miguel, Rachel H. Martinez, both of Artesia, NM and his son Ray Hernandez, Jr. and his wife Maria of Eunice, NM; sisters Della Fugua, Gloria Miller both of Woodson, TX,  Rosa Perez, husband Manuel of Breckenridge, TX; grandchildren: Miranda Greene, Kyla Fierro and husband Dylon Fierro, Lexus (Luna) Hernandez, Kali Aguirre and husband Aaron, Emilio (Luna) Hernandez, Michelle Greene, Miguel Martinez, Jr., Kara Martinez, and Jasmine Martinez; great-grandchildren Oriah Fierro, Mekiella Aguirre, Dylon Fierro, Jr. and Octavia Fierro.

He was preceded in death by his parents David and Eulojia (Garcia) Hernandez, brother’s Daniel Hernandez, Antonio Hernanez and Pete Garcia, Sr.

Raymond was born on August 16, 1944, in Marathon, TX.  In 1968 he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  On March 28, 1970, he married his wife Anita (Ann) in Kermit, TX.  In 1973 they lived at El Paso Natural Gas Plant Camp also known as Oil Center for over 12 years then moved to Eunice where they currently reside.  Raymond retired from El Paso Natural Gas Plant where he worked as a Plant Operator for over 30 years.   His most favorite memory was watching Dallas Cowboys football game with his brothers and continued to be the most devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys after his brothers’ passing.  He also enjoyed playing golf, collecting antique cars, spending time with his son, Ray at his shop, traveling different places, visiting his grand and great children, and absolutely loved dancing with his beautiful wife.

“Our Heavenly Father works in mysterious ways that we all may not ever understand his timing, but he decided that it was our fathers time to be with him, his parents, his brothers and many more so suddenly.  He was loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.”
