Richard P. Quiroz

Richard P. Quiroz was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on September 2, 1961, to Paulino and Elena Quiroz. He went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2023. He was 62 years young. He married Edith Ramirez on December 12, 1982. They have a daughter, Andrea C. Urso and son in love Joshua Urso. Richard attended El Rito Community College and became a certified Barber. He had many clients and loved to barber. Currently, Richard worked on the grounds for New Mexico Junior College in the Maintenance Department.

He also was a musician and played in several bands (Mello Madness, La Forma, La Distancia, Ancianos Para Cristo, Christians on Fire). He had his own ministry SOTM (Siervo on the Move) through those ministries, he was able to share his love of Christ to those near and far. Besides praising the Lord, he enjoyed BBQ’ing and cheering on his teams (LA Dodgers, LA Rams, LA Lakers). Richard is a devoted son, husband, father, brother, tio and friend/brother in Christ. He loved the Lord with all his heart. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his loving wife, daughter, son in love and family.

He is survived by his wife, Edith, daughter Andrea (Joshua), his father, Paulino, one brother, Arthur Quiroz, and three sisters Aurora Ruiz (Fred Ruiz), Ana Quiroz (George Mendoza), Leticia Quiroz (Margarito Melendez) and numerous Tio’s (Uncle’s), Tia’s(Aunt’s), and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Elena P. Quiroz and brother Daniel “Boone” Quiroz.
