Robert Haden Ashley left his friends and family on June 26th, 2022. He was born November 01, 1951, in Opelika, Alabama to Carl and Nina (Cofield) Ashley. Robert started off in the United States Air Force at 19 years old. He was the owner/operator of Ashley’s Super Shell and worked most of his adult life as an auto mechanic. Dad devoted much of his spare time coaching baseball as well as being President of Hobbs Little League for many years. He enjoyed watching his son/grandsons play and frequented many games. Dad enjoyed camping, deer hunting in the Guadalupe mountains and making sure his kids were up to date on the latest world news, politics, and Alabama football stats! He was a die-hard Alabama Football fan even naming his beloved dog Bama. Dad had a keen sense of humor and enjoyed joking around and being the life of the party.
Robert is proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Alton Ashley and one son, Richard Carl.
Robert leaves behind three sons Jody (Brenda) Ashley of Azle, TX., Jared (Taylor) Ashley of Evans, GA., Joshua Ashley of Newnan, GA., one daughter Vanessa (Scott) Ashley-Scheiwer of Erie, PA., nine grandchildren Jace, Jaden, Preston, Julian, Sydnie, Jett, Boston, Georgia and Evelyn and two great grand children Jonas and Milli, two sisters Shiela Anderson and Carlann McBroom, a host of nieces and nephews and his dog and best friend Bama that loved and will miss him dearly. “Roll Tide.”
