Robert Boone

Robert Lewis Boone, 92, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021, in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Lew was born on January 10, 1929, in Seagraves, Texas to John Willis Boone and Mamie Lee Stubbs Boone.  Lew was educated in Texas, graduating from high school in 1945, at the age of 16.  He attended University of North Texas from 1945-1947.

After school, he worked various jobs in the Dallas area until late summer 1951, when he moved to Midland and got a job with Core Labs.  After a year, they transferred him to Lovington to be in charge of the lab.  In 1957, they built a new lab in Hobbs, which is where he met the love of his life, Jean.  Lew married Martha Jean McKinnon on June 26, 1958, in Nashville, Tennessee.  They made their home in Hobbs.

Lew was preceded in death by his wife Jean, his parents, brother John Frank, and son John Mark.  Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Luann Martin and husband Connie Mack, of Shreveport, Louisiana, son Randy Boone, of Carrollton, Texas, three grandchildren, Morgan Temple and husband Hunter, Mackenzie Martin, and Mark Martin, all of Shreveport, Louisiana, and four great grandchildren, Liam Martin, Anna Katherine Temple, Ava Temple, and Andrew Temple, also of Shreveport, Louisiana.  He is also survived by his nephew, Kirk Boone of Denver, Colorado, nieces Kim Conner of Georgetown, Texas, and Karen Anderson of Temple, Texas.

Thank you to the McDonald’s Coffee Group for always being there for Dad and helping him out anytime he was in need.  Also, a very special thank you to the Guest House Rehab Facility in Shreveport, Louisiana, for caring for dad during his final months.  Finally, thank you to everyone who had a part, large or small, in helping Dad.
