Robert Burris

Robert Eric Burris, age 46, was born on March 4, 1972 in Hobbs, NM to Asa (Bucky) and Karen Burris. He passed away on Thursday, November 15th after battling cancer.

Robert was employed by GEO Group as a correctional officer for 20 years. He was a graduate of Hobbs High School and was proud to have achieved a black belt in Taekwondo. In his later years he enjoyed reading and working with leather.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Ryker Burris. Surviving him are his son, Austin Burris, his father, Asa and step-mother, Marsha Burris, one sister, Wanda Freeman and a brother, Dwayne Burris. He leaves several nieces and nephews.
