Robert Cortez

On behalf of the Cortez family, it is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Robert Cortez on April 23, 2026, at the age of 62. Born and raised in Hobbs, NM, Robert was a loving and proud son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend who has left this world too soon.

Robert was the beloved son of Richard C. Cortez and Irma R. Cortez. He is survived by his brothers, Michael Joe Hill and Ray R. Cortez and his sister, Kelly Milioti; his three daughters, Elise Nicole Cortez, Lay'ne Rash, Felicity Duran; his two sons, Robert Charles Cortez and Robert Elijah Cortez; grandchildren, Sarah Alvarez, A'mylie Garcia, Raye Sosa, and Nickolas Cortez. Robert had such an impact on his cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles.

As we lean on one another for comfort, we have scheduled a Celebration of Life on Friday, June 5th, at 2:00 p.m., in Hobbs, NM. We chose this date to ensure that all those who loved Robert have ample time to make arrangements to be with us.

On June 5th, at 2:00 p.m., there will be a memorial service at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home, 3321 North Dal Paso Street, Hobbs, NM, followed by a graveside ceremony at Prairie Haven Cemetery and a reception to follow.
