Shala Slade

Shala Slade 48, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and aunt was called to her eternal resting place on February 15, 2023.  She was born on August 2, 1974, in Hobbs, NM to Gerald Slade and Trudy Bates.

She was educated in the Hobbs Public Schools and graduated from Hobbs High School class of 1992.

Leaving to cherish her beautiful memory are her father Gerald (JoeAnn) Slade of Hobbs, mother Trudy Bates of Little Rock, 3 sons Brennan Slade of Hobbs, Adarian Harris of Denton, Terin “Taii’Jay” Slade of Hobbs, 4 brothers Willie (Lelia) Bates of Little Rock, Kevin (Jennifer) Slade of Overland Park, Courtney Slade of Austin, and Cameron Slade of Hobbs, 2 sisters Shauna Conic and Shakenna Slade of Little Rock; 4 aunts Lisa Slade of Arlington, Sean Thomas of Hobbs, Ann Bates of Bryan, Phyllis Barnett of Little Rock and Carolyn Bates of Grand Prairie and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Meeting her at the banks of Jordan are her grandparents Dozie Slade, Loretha Walker, James & Annie Bates, Step grandfather Billy Walker, aunts Donna Hornsby, Sherry Smith and Vera Benford, uncles Frank & Richard Slade, James “Marshall” Bates and cousin Karla Jordan.
