Sharon K. Walker

June 5, 1943 — August 26, 2024

Hobbs

Sharon was born to Claude and Mable Goodnough on June 5, 1943, in Frederick, Oklahoma. Sharon was entered into rest on August 26, 2024, in Hobbs, New Mexico.

She grew up in Frederick with her three brothers, Buck, Drude, and Sonny, as well as her two sisters, Patsy and Lois. She met her husband, Carson, of fifty-nine years, in 1959, and was married on December 16, 1961. All siblings preceded her in death.

They moved for work several times until landing in Hobbs in 1975. Sharon was a lifelong homemaker. She cared exceptionally for Carson and her two sons, Alan and Michael. She loved her grandchildren beyond measure and recently became a great-Mimi to Carson Ripley. She was a faithful and loving friend to Martha Riggins and Barbara Rush, whom she considered her sisters.

Sharon volunteered at Hobbs Senior Citizen Center for several years. She often put others before herself. She loved her family dearly and would do anything for them. She was a very proud, independent, and loving person.

She is survived by her sons, Alan and wife Lisa Walker of Marble Falls, Texas, and Michael Walker of Hobbs, New Mexico; grandchildren Allison Ripley and husband Matthew of Stephenville, Texas, Eric Walker of Marble Falls, Texas, and Camden Walker of Hobbs, New Mexico; and great-grandson Carson Ripley of Stephenville, Texas.

A committal service will occur at a later date at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in Hobbs, New Mexico. She and Carson will be placed in a niche directly across from their long-time neighbors of over forty years, Carey and Rosemary Jetton.
