Shelly LeAnn Raulston passed away at her home in Hobbs, New Mexico, on May 26, 2026, at the age of 55.
Shelly was born on July 19, 1970, in Hobart, Oklahoma, to Kirk and Phyllis (Means) Pittman. She was the firstborn of two children and had one younger brother, Ron.
Shelly was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on August 2, 1986, at the Colorado Camp Meetings by Brother Clifford Hutton.
Shelly married the love of her life, David Raulston, on November 14, 1992, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Together they shared 33 years of marriage, love, laughter, and life. Shortly after beginning their life together, they welcomed three children: Taylor LeAnn, Torrey Rhea, and Daulton Gene.
Shelly began her career with the City of Hobbs in December 2009 in the Finance Department before later moving to the Parks and Open Spaces Department. She enjoyed working alongside her colleagues and was grateful for the friendships, memories, and years she spent serving the City of Hobbs.
Shelly had a heart full of love and a personality that could fill a room. People were naturally drawn to her when she walked in, and she had a way of making others feel welcome, loved, and included. She enjoyed shopping, playing games, Halloween, traveling, Christmas caroling, spending time with family, and making memories with the people she loved most.
Shelly was deeply involved in her children’s lives and found great joy in supporting them in everything they did. Whether it was sporting events, choir, proms, church functions, or any other interest they had, she was there. Before her children were able to drive, she spent many miles taking them and others to church functions, always happy to be with the brethren and surrounded by those she loved.
One of Shelly’s greatest joys was witnessing her children give their lives to serve God, as one by one they were baptized into this wonderful faith. Her love for the Lord, her family, and the brethren was a treasured part of who she was.
Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandbabies. Being “Mimi” was one of the titles she treasured most. She loved her grandchildren deeply and took great pride in every moment she was able to spend with them. She was also excitedly awaiting the arrival of a new grandbaby coming in November, a blessing she already loved dearly.
Shelly will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, Mimi, daughter, sister, coworker, and friend. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Shelly is survived by her husband, David Raulston; her children, Taylor LeAnn Davis and husband Dalton, Torrey Rhea Bernal and husband Eman, and Daulton Gene Raulston and wife Priscilla; her grandchildren, Zane, Zion, Zoe, Ernest, and Ervin; her brother, Ron Pittman and wife Julie; her aunts and uncle, Sharon (Means) Kelley, Sheila (Means) Looper, and Ricky Means; as well as several siblings-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kirk and Phyllis Pittman; her parents-in-law, Ronnie and Velda Raulston; her brothers-in-law, Danny Dobbs and Bobby Raulston; and her aunts and uncles, Sandy Greenfield, Pat and Carson Willsie, and Gene Kelley.
