Stanley E. Newman

Born November 18, 1942, in Portales, New Mexico.  Stanley passed away May 29,2023 in Midland, TX.  Stanley was a long time Resident of Hobbs, NM, where he attended High School.  Stanley then went on to Texas Tech University, in Lubbock TX where he received his M.B.A. Degree. This was the accomplishment that he was most proud of. At the time of his death, he was in a nursing home in Midland, TX. He suffered a stroke in 2011.

Among his many life experiences, he was CEO and President of two National banks in Carlsbad and Albuquerque NM. He worked for the bank for about 35 years, starting out as a loan officer and working his way to the top.  Stanley was awarded Outstanding Citizen of the year in 1975, in Hobbs, NM.  He was also chairman of the board of directors, at the NMJC from 1978 to 1980.

He was preceded in death by his parents William Standhope Newman and Alta Geneva Newman (Langford), 2 brothers Donald Newman of Grand Prairie, TX and Carl Newman of Hobbs, NM, two nephews, John Clayton Fore Jr. and Nolen Ryan Hutchings.

Left to cherish his Memory, are his sisters, Patricia Carleen Fore (Newman) and husband John Fore, of Chowchilla California, Carolyn Horton (Newman) and husband Marty Horton of Boiling Springs, SC, and Virginia Boynton (Newman) of Hobbs NM. Stan had numerous nephews and nieces that he was most fond of. Gone but never forgotten, Stanley will be Greatly missed byfamily and friends.

Per Stanley’s request, there will be no service.
