Steve Woollard of Hobbs, NM died Friday, May 3, 2024, at the age of 63. Steve was born March 15, 1961 and was the middle child of his late parents, Lynne & Bob Woollard of Lovington. Steve graduated from Lovington High School in 1979. Steve ran the Woollard Music Co., a coin-operated amusement route in the Lea County area since Bob passed away in late 2010, until the 2020 COVID plandemic and his following illness. Many thanks to his close friends, especially Brently and Keith that helped out during his long illness.
Steve, aka "Gonzo" to his close friends, was a music buff, an avid gun guru, and excellent shooter. Steve enjoyed going target shooting with his friends, especially his late buddy Russell Norris. Steve grew up riding motorcycles and raced his Husky and KTMs in Motocross and Enduro races in the late 70s & early 80s. He was very studious and a great researcher which allowed him to become a jack-of-all-trades and fix just about anything. He was a mentor and teacher to many.
Steve is survived by his older sister, Alayne and her husband David Jones of Chandler, AZ; Bruce Woollard and his wife Anna of Tucson, AZ; one nephew, Douglas Jones of Chandler, AZ; and his daughter Shay Allen and husband Ryne Klauer of Colorado Springs, CO. Steve was blessed with many great friends along his life's journey.
