In Loving Memory of Sulema Rios
October 1, 1953 – June 24, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sulema Rios, who entered eternal rest on June 24, 2026, at the age of 72. She was born on October 1, 1953, in Rankin, Texas.
Sulema was the beloved wife of Lupe Rios and a devoted mother to Anita, SammyJoe, Sabina (Ricky), and Isaac (Mary). Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her endless joy and pride.
She is also survived by her loving siblings: Frank (Mona), Sal (Ruby), Anita (Roy), Lucy (Raul), Joann (Casey), Patricia (Rene), Priscilla (Jaime), Joel (Mel), Tony (Olivia), and Belinda (Joe), Michelle (Jeff), Yvette (Jimmy), Juan-Hippi (Laura), Lupe (Ruby), along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Sulema was preceded in death by her parents, Mercedes Longoria, and Jose Longoria, and by Salvador Villegas.
Sulema had a vibrant spirit and lived life to the fullest. She loved spending time playing bingo, visiting the casino, dancing, and sharing laughter with everyone around her. Her quick wit, playful sense of humor, and joyful personality could brighten any room. She had a remarkable gift for making people smile and creating lasting memories with those she loved.
Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her love, laughter, strength, and the countless memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
A Visitation for Sulema will begin at 10am Tuesday June 30, 2026, following a Funeral Service at 2pm at Chapel of Hope. With a burial at Prairie Haven Cemetery to follow.
