Thelma Marie Kemp, of Hobbs, went home to Heaven on February 22, 2020.
Thelma was born on April 21, 1935 in Teague Switch, NM. She retired from Mobil/Exxon after thirty years as a Senior Production Clerk. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, painting, square dancing and she loved animals, quilting and cross-stitch. She was a lifetime member at Crosswinds Community Church, formerly Northside Baptist Church where she was a dedicated volunteer. Thelma had a servant’s heart and was happiest helping others. She had a gifting that always made those around her feel special and loved.
Thelma was preceded in death by her son, Gary Kemp, her husband, Charlie Kemp, her brothers Edgar, Harold and Burt Varner and her parents Walter and Alta Varner.
Thelma Kemp is survived by her son, Ronnie Kemp of Waxahachie, Texas, her daughter, Donna Davis and husband Larry Davis; her grandchildren, Staci Evans, Amy Warner and husband Clyde Warner, Barry and Bert Davis of Fort Worth, Texas and Lou Davis of Bridgeport, Texas; her great grandchildren Tristyn Evans, Shania and Khloe Warner of Fort Worth, Texas; her sister Margaret Graham of Lubbock, Texas, her brother Gene Varner and wife Mary Jo of Hobbs; her caregiver, Evelyn Warden of Hobbs and her great friend Short Young of Hobbs.
