Tom Wolfe

November 7, 1954 — May 1, 2026

Hobbs, NM

Ross Thomas Wolfe Jr., went to be with Jesus on May 1st, 2026. Tom was born in Perry, Oklahoma on November 7, 1954, to Ross and Mayruth Wolfe. After graduating from Hobbs High School in 1974, Tom attended Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to study diesel mechanics. After graduating he came back to Hobbs and was ultimately hired by Permian Mack, which eventually was bought out by Bruckner Truck Sales. Tom remained working for Bruckner’s for 48 years. Through the years Tom had many hobbies. He loved diving, honestly, he was the coolest person at the swimming pool. He could do any trick off the diving board! He loved playing darts, hunting, and he loved snorkeling in the ocean. Tom was a jack of all trades, always enjoyed projects, and was always happy to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Tom marched to the beat of his own drum and lived life his way, unapologetically. Tom was just Tom! He was a member of the Moose Lodge, CASI, and he loved volunteering and cooking for United Way of Lea County Chili Cook-offs. Tom, like his parents also loved being a fan of the Hobbs Eagles! Tom is survived by his loving wife Shelly Wolfe. Tom and Shelly married on August 22, 2003, and blended a loving family with seven children, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Later in life, Tom and Shelly gained two God Given Children.
