Victoria Elizabeth Yarbrough, age 33, of Hobbs, NM, passed away on August 10, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas.
She was born on May 12, 1992, in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Born and raised in Hobbs, Victoria was a bright light to everyone who knew her. She attended Hobbs High School and New Mexico Junior College, and most recently worked as a receptionist at Kymera. But titles and jobs never defined Victoria—her true calling was caring for others. She had an incredible gift with children, babysitting and helping to raise many of them as if they were her own.
Victoria’s life was a testament to courage and perseverance. After spending her entire childhood in a wheelchair, she accomplished the extraordinary—learning to walk at age 20. That determination, paired with her unwavering kindness, inspired all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Tony and Judy Heard, Mary Chacon, her uncle Kenny Yarbrough, and her brother Tony Yarbrough.
She is survived by her loving parents Bobby and Sara Yarbrough; siblings Emily Taylor (Justice), Billy Galindo, and Marie Tucker (Sterling); nephew Cope Taylor; nieces Hailey Sendejo (Joseph), Brianna Tucker, and Kaitlyn Galindo; great-niece Haven Sendejo; uncles Brian Heard (Barbara), Ralph Torres (Cindy), Johnny Yarbrough; aunts Sandra Valladarez (Sam), Kim Torres, and Lisa Floyd (Mike); her life partner Dontashia Clayton; John Gamble; and many cousins who adored her: Tim Heard, Rhea Cruz (Amancio), Bryce Cruz, Cutter Cruz (Britney), Camilo Cruz, Jake Cruz, Anthony Heard, Dallas Jenkins (Artie), Oliver Jenkins, Logan Jenkins, Paisley Jenkins, Justin Valladarez, Emilia Valladarez, Shelby Valladarez, Taisia Floyd, JR Floyd (Ashley), Manuel Mata, Maleri Mata, Malaki Mata, Michael Floyd, Major Floyd, Jaymz Heard, Tyler Thompson and Christian Yarbrough.
In honor of Victoria’s favorite color, the family invites everyone to wear something purple.
Victoria will be remembered for her warm smile, her gentle heart, her love for family, and her ability to find joy despite life’s challenges. Her spirit was unshakable, her love unending, and her presence unforgettable. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and faith that will live on in all who knew and loved her.
