Virda Daricek

She left this earthly home on August 23, 2020 to be with her Heavenly Father.  We have come to celebrate the life of Virda D. Grimes Daricek who began this fantastic journey of life on July 31, 1924 in Graham, Texas to John and Viola McBride Grimes.

She moved from Graham, Texas with her parents at the age of 6.  Her parents owned and operated a laundry 4 years before moving to Hobbs, New Mexico in 1934.  In 1938, she met and married her first true love O.J. (Bully) Daricek.  They had three children.

She worked for Phillips Petroleum, General Phone Company and owned a Café in Bronco, New Mexico before returning to become a homemaker.  She was the most loving and caring person.  She loved to paint, crochet, do yardwork and loved her three children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and loved her animals.

She was preceded in death by her husband O.J. (Bully) Daricek; parents John and Viola McBride Grimes; one brother, Bill Pritchard; three sisters, Martha Bishop, Nanny Simpson, Maxine Pittman; one grandson, Jimmy Daricek and two great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter of the home Doris Daricek Naylor; two sons, John Franklin Daricek of Hobbs, NM and Bennie Ray Daricek and wife Pat of San Angelo, Texas.  She had 10 grandchildren; John Daricek Jr. of Red Bluff, CA; Becky Daricek of Rex Bluff, CA; Lynda Daricek of Red Bluff, CA; Tina Naylor Kirby and husband Bruce of Ardmore, OK; Shannon Naylor and wife Darcy of Midland, Texas; Dustin Naylor of Hobbs, NM; Thomas Pena and fiancé Sidney Arnold of Hobbs, NM; Devon Daricek of Peoria, AZ; Dana Daricek of Peoria, AZ; Damon Daricek and wife Natalie of Peoria, AZ: 27 great grandchildren, 23 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.

In memory of Virda the family requests that you make contributions to the Human Society or to your favorite charity.  A special thank you to Dr. Wagoner and Kindred staff for taking care of our loved one.
