Virginia Beeson, 88, of Hobbs, passed away on April 9, 2019 at her home in Hobbs.
Virginia was born in Lockwood, Missouri to Dora and Percy Windes on September 1, 1930. She graduated from Golden City High School in Golden City, Missouri in 1950. At the age on 16, Virginia was stricken with polio and was crippled in her left leg for the remainder of her life. However, she never let this defeat her and led a very active and fruitful life. She married Wayne Beeson on October 14, 1950 at her family home in Lockwood. Last October they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary with family and friends. They remained a very loving and devoted couple, each taking care of the other at home. She was a devoted housewife and mother, working hard sewing for her two daughters, baking the most delicious homemade bread and cinnamon rolls in the world, and baking cookies and goodies for her grandchildren. She was affectionately known as ‘Gabber' to all her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook, who always searched for new recipes that would please her family. Virginia and Wayne spent many hours pursuing her favorite past time, which was watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball. She also loved watching the Baylor Bear girls play basketball and softball. She was a faithful member of her church for over 65 years and particularly enjoyed her Sunday school lessons with her class and teachers from First Baptist Church.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Wayne of the home, sons, Larry Beeson of Charlottesville, VA (Claire) and Mark Beeson (Barbara) of Dolores, Colorado, daughters, Pam Tabor (Cas) of Carlsbad, NM and Penny Norris (Walter "Bubba") of Hobbs. She has one surviving sister, Rosalee Wolfe, of Golden City, Missouri. Virginia was blessed with seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren: Nikki Salameh (Sam) and their daughters, Bay and Skye of Rancho Santa Margarita, California; Kyle Tabor, and children Kiera, Jenson and Benjamin of Carlsbad, Sean Tabor of Carlsbad; Derek Norris (Katie) and their daughters EmmaJane and Arabelle of Lovington, Bruce Norris (Dani Vickery) and their son Cash of Hobbs; and Ryan and Travis Beeson of Dolores, Colorado.
