Hobbs

Walter "Dennis" Johnston was born on March 10, 1941, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Walter Ennis Johnston and Lilly Andrea Pedersen-Johnston. He was raised in Clovis, New Mexico, where he spent his early years before proudly serving in the Army National Guard.

In 1965, Dennis made his home in Hobbs, New Mexico. There, he built a respected career managing City Glass and Mirror until his retirement in 2008. Dennis became widely known throughout the community for his exceptional commercial and residential glasswork. His craftsmanship and dedication left a lasting mark across Hobbs and the surrounding area.

Even after retiring, Dennis remained active and involved. For five years, he assisted the Director of the Western Heritage Museum, helping repair and assemble exhibits - a role he deeply enjoyed. He was a Lifetime Member of the Western Heritage Museum and a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge and the Moose Lodge.

Dennis had a deep love for the outdoors and adventure. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, camping, traveling, dancing, and loved family gatherings.
