Wayne Ford

Wayne E. Ford, 70, was born June 20, 1948 in Portales, NM to Arthur and Luella Ford. He passed away in Hobbs, NM on June 25, 2018 after a 4-year battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

He graduated from Hobbs High School in 1966 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1967-1970. He lived in Hobbs over 60 years. He retired from New Mexico Electric after 30 years of service and had worked for Watson Truck & Supply for many years as a certified mechanic. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed rock collecting. He loved to barbeque on his patio for family and friends. Wayne was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Wayne is survived by his wife Barbara of Hobbs; his son, Mike Ford and wife Isabel of Hobbs; his daughter, Marlena Bushway and husband Don of Hobbs; a brother, Eddie Ford and wife Mary of Springtown, TX; a sister, Barbara Lou Williams and husband Richard of Hobbs; his grandchildren, Jacob (Monique) Ford, Eric (Diana) Ford, Dallas (Artie) Jenkins, Randal Hall, Annedee Bushway, and Summer Bushway; four great-grandsons; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; A. E. "Tommy" Ford and Luella Carrol.

The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice for their loving care of their dad and husband, also, his medical doctors; Dr. Lenard Wagner and Dr. Carlos Revelo. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association.
