It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Kay Jamison on November 30th, 2023. Bill was a beloved husband, father, and friend. He was known for his strong work ethic, his passion for bass fishing, his love of John Deere tractors, his deep knowledge of history, and his dry sense of humor.
Born on July 26, 1941, in Waukegan, Illinois, Billie Kay was born to William Lionel Jamison and Agnes Teresa Wasniewski Jamison. The Jamison family lived in Illinois in Billie Kay's childhood years. Agnes passed away at the young age of 51 and the family moved to Long Beach, California shortly after her death in 1961. It was in Long Beach, that Bill discovered the oil field and found his lifelong career. He also discovered Kathryn Ann Wells and made her his wife in 1964. He was transferred to Odessa, TX and then to Hobbs, NM where he built the rest of his career and family. Bill was very well known as a drilling consultant and for his expertise in drilling deep wells.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Kathee and Bill were known for their generosity and genuine concern for others. Bill is survived by his daughters: Rebekah Leigh Waldrop and Rachel Lynn Baldwin along with their respective husbands Kent and Don. Bill often said he had the best two sons-in-law that any man ever had. He is also survived by his grandchildren, BaLeigh Walters, Brock Waldrop, Emma Baldwin, Hannah Baldwin, Noah Baldwin, and Silas Baldwin. He is survived by one great grandson who had just been born 3 months prior: John Kent Walters. Another survivor is his second wife, Freida Ross.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Veritas Classic Christian Academy, P O Box 2844, Hobbs, NM 88241.
May Bill Jamison rest in peace, his memory enduring in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
