William Sanderson

William “Bill” Archie Sanderson, 79, passed away January 15th, 2022 at his residence in Cortez, Colorado. He was born on August 2nd, 1942 to Vernon Edward and Margaret Harriet (Shepard) Sanderson in Parsons, Kansas.

Bill was highly regarded by the community, co-workers, and friends. His life was a testament of devotion to God, his family, and to serving others.

While attending high school in Hobbs, New Mexico, he met his first wife, Patricia Ann Lenderman. They were later married in April 1964. To this union two children were born, Mark Edward and Tammy Jean.

He graduated from Hobbs High School and began his career with Ponca Wholesales. He furthered his career development with Northern Natural (Enron) before transferring to Kinder Morgan. He retired with 30 years of service to the company.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman. His hobbies included fishing, game hunting, and arrowhead hunting. However, his most cherished memories were created spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his children Mark Sanderson of Lubbock, Texas and Tammy Sorheim of Hobbs, New Mexico; his grandchildren Korie Hurst, Autumn Pachall, and Amanda Sorheim; great grandchildren Evyn Sorheim, Blaize Pachall, and Bostyn Pachall; his siblings Marion Calloway of Refugio, Texas, Delbert Sanderson of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Nancy Ross of Aztec, New Mexico.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ona Sanderson; his siblings Dorthy, Denney, and George Sanderson; and his grandchildren Austin Sanderson and Taylor Sanderson.
