A memorial service for Luanne McPeters of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be held 10 a.m.Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Highland Baptist Church with Pastor Aaron Denson officiating.

alignjustifyCremation will take place. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

alignjustifyMrs. McPeters, 71, died April 19, 2009, at Lea Regional Medical Center. She was born April 20, 1937, in Maysville, Arkansas. She married Ken McPeters on December, 13, 1988, in Hobbs.

alignjustifyLuanne retired from Eddy Federal Credit Union in Carlsbad, New BRMexico, after many years of service. She was a member of Hobbs Garden Club, Hobbs Stock Club and the Alarm Clock Club. Luanne was an avid Hobbs Eagles basketball fan. She greatly loved her family. She was an active member of Highland Baptist Church.

alignjustifySurvivors include her husband, Ken McPeters of Hobbs; a son, Raoul McPeters and wife Sandra of Hobbs; two daughters, Lynn Irish and husband Mike of San Antonio, Texas, and Sharon Kunkel of Carlsbad; a brother, Maurice Keith and wife Phyllis of Arkansas; a son-in-law, Jon Valdez of Rowlett, Texas; eight grandchildren, Kenny McPeters and wife Kana of San Diego, California, Christy Muncrief of San Antonio, Texas, Kelly Kunkel of Carlsbad, Lisa Nesbit and husband Curt of San Antonio, Texas, and Luke Kunkel of Whitewater, California, and Michael, David and Emily Valdez of Rowlett, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Jaycie Nesbit of San Antonio, Texas, Paige Magey of Carlsbad, and Caleb Muncrief of San Antonio, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

alignjustifyLuanne was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Verda Keith; a daughter, Rhonda Valdez; and a sister, Norma Scates.

alignjustifyMemorials may be sent to a charity of one's choice.
