Everardo (Shorty) Fuentez

Shorty was born in the small town of McCamey, Texas on September 27th, 1962 to Manuela and Jacobo Avila.  He passed away on December 27, 2020.

He married the love of his life Lupe Espinoza on April 12th, 1986 in Hobbs, NM.  Shorty attended Hobbs High where he played football. He was a member at Templo Emanuel Church. He enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, shopping with his grandkids, fishing, going on road trips, and enjoyed making people smile. Shorty enjoyed his job out in the oilfield where he worked 30+ yrs and was very well known by everyone.

He is survived by his wife, Lupe Fuentez; son, Jesse Fuentez (Jessica Fuentez, wife); daughters, Yvette Saenz (Octavio Saenz, husband) and Casandra Fuentez (Uriel Olivas, husband); 9 grandkids, Isaiah, Nathan, Braxton and Matthew Saenz, Jason, Jaquelynn and Jordyn Fuentez, Nevaeh Hernandez, and Jaretzy Olivas, brothers: Noa Ávila and Jake Calanchi; sisters, Alice DeLeon, Nora Ponce, Carmen Avila, and Isabel Ford.

He was preceded in by death by his parents; brothers, Jacobo Avila, and Guadalupe (Wally) Avila; and his father-in-law, Abraham Espinoza.
